About BigTop RV Park

Fletcher Runyan owner of BigTop RV Park

Beginning at the young age of six, Fletcher Runyan began training at the Fern Street Circus in San Diego, California. At the age of eight, he and his four brothers were hand picked by Pietro Canestrelli a world renowned circus performer and family. When he was about 14 years old, Fletcher began training diligently on the low wire; and to this day he performs just as diligently as he had trained. Versed in many other skills, Fletcher also used to perform a 'knockabout table sliding act' with his brothers Derek and Joseph; who no longer perform. Pietro Canestrelli put all his heart into training the Runyan Brothers in every aspect of the circus business. With Canestrelli's 8 generations of wisdom and knowledge passed down, he was able to give Fletcher the proper advice on what skills were needed in order to survive in the circus industry. Fletcher learned to weld, make shoes, costumes, props, mechanics, etc. To this day Fletcher continues to use the skills passed down to him by the Canestrelli Family. He currently presents two sensational acts; 'the low wire' and the 'all new Ariel pole'; which are performed all across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Bill Dunnam co-owner of BigTop RV Park

Bill Dunnam has had a multi-faceted career as an actor, truck driver, and circus veteran.

A Vietnam War veteran, Mr. Dunnam is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, the Actor’s Equity Association., and has appeared in numerous films and TV shows. In San Diego, California, Bill has played many starring roles at the San Diego Repertory Theater; and has also performed at Regional theaters throughout the country.

For many years, Bill worked with the community based Fern Street Circus, where he discovered the joy of community development through circus arts. Mr. Dunnam has traveled the country with various circuses, working as a production coordinator and facility manager.

Mr. Dunnam also owned a small trucking business. “Gold Wing Trucking” delivered floor covering supplies from coast to coast for over twenty years. Mr. Dunnam retired from the trucking business to devote more of his time and energy to his true passions: the theater, the circus, and with Fletcher Runyan, a shared vision of opening a Big Top RV park in the heart of Sweetwater Texas.
